Worn and Tattered

It wasn’t the newest one on the shelf or in the best shape.
But it was the one I was drawn to. So worn and so tattered.

I had my choice among so many, but this is the one that came home with me.
And every time I look at it, I will think of my Dad.

My Dad is an avid reader and has decided to pass on his collection of books.
I now feel so fortunate and it makes me so appreciative.
This little worn and tattered book brings fond memories of everything that makes my dad so special.

Until next time,
~Cindy~

Great post! How nice to have a part of your dad's collection as it will always bring fond memories.
I have a couple items from moms collections and they will always bring me fond memories along with tears of joy.
Have a great day,
Cheryl

Oh Cindy...my daddy was a lover of books and had a huge library. One of my most special keepsakes is the church manual from the early 1900 not long after the Church of the Nazarene formed out of the Methodist Church. I have that and a small bible he dug out of the trash in the 1960's...it's dated before the turn of the century and very rare.

I LOVE your tattered book. Just beautiful...and meaningful.

It's been the pits junking lately. Last two Saturdays I came home with almost NOTHIN'! Bah!

Personal items of your love ones are so meaningful. When you can see the love they had for something because of its worn and weathered feel. It's a gorgeous book.

I think it's beautiful, the more tattered the better...it has a personality. Nice to have that memory too!
