Straw for Sale

We needed some straw for the garden so we went down the road.
At the small sign that reads 'straw' with an arrow, we turned in.

Went down the path.

Went by some rustic buildings.

And arrived at the barn. We threw the straw into the back of the truck.

And paid D. Pepper. Using his honor system.

This is why I love my simple, country life.

I agree with you on that simple life. I wish we could see more of this type of trust and honor among people in the world.

We have the driveway side apple and veggie stands in season and many use the honor system as well, but none of them have as cool a name as D. Pepper!

Your post today reminds me of my SIL and BIL...they live on a 200 acre farm and sell straw, veggies, and eggs...whatever is in season. All on the honor system if they are not home. It is one of the many great things about living in the country.
hugs,
Cindy
