What Is It?

Do you know what this is?
I picked it up at the flea market.
Hubby had to enlighten me on what this is.

It's a heavy piece weighing 11 lbs.
Here's a closeup of the top.

The glass is really thick and pretty.
So do you know what it is, yet?

It's an insulator! The biggest one I've ever come across.
So...did you know?

At first I thought it was an old headlight! Its great, thought, and I've never seen one so huge either! Does you hubby know where it was used?

I have to admit, I've never seen one THAT big! You remind me of myself--buying something just because I like it and not always knowing what it's used for--yet, definitely knowing what I'll do with it. We've had many laughs in this household over that one thing alone!

Yes, I did know it was an insulator. My X husband collected them years ago but did not have one like that. I have seen some very large ones in a crockery type material in different colors. You have a great find!
Have fun,
Cheryl

Hi! Cindy,

I knew what it was ;oD These insulators do come in a variety of sizes & colors.

Some people use the larger ones as bird feeders(some parts altered or removed). I know an antique dealer who uses the white & brown ones for holding snacks. lol

I think they are nice displayed in the rock garden.

Thanks! for sharing. Have a great week!

Blessings & Hugs,
Marlene
