Month of May

Whew...the month of May has been exhausting. 

I haven't had much time to blog or to even visit. My apologies!

This month has been filled with...

thousands of miles of travel,

plenty of pickin',

five states,

numerous truck repairs,

and celebrations.

All this with the ups and downs of regular day to day life stuck in there.

June is right around the corner and it looks like it may be just as busy.

Life is good.

...for my first grandbaby. Meanwhile, out back...

Another form of new life.

Happens every year.

Still trying to catch the actual hatching of the little ones.

Maybe this year.

Wild and Crazy Week

This week is extremely busy...so much going on.

I already mentioned our pickin' trip out of state with the PT Cruiser.

What I didn't mention is that I came down with an infection when we arrived home.

On Sunday morning, I had to go to a care center to get meds. 

Unfortunately, I'm allergic to a lot of medications. 

That is the first thing the doctor brought up when he looked at my chart.

So I'm on a new medication, crossing my fingers that it does not add to my illness.

So far, it is just making me tired.

The next morning, I woke up with an itchy eye which was starting to swell.

I'm allergic to a lot of things outdoors especially poison ivy.

Since I have not been around any plant life, I assumed it was airborne.

Pfffttt...

I decided to treat it with vinegar water since it wasn't too bad. And now it's better.

Phew...didn't want to have to go back to the care center.

This week is my wedding anniversary.

And this week is also my birthday.

Mother's Day is this Sunday.

And I'm sitting here waiting for my daughter to call.

I'm going to be a grandma this week.

That will involve a 13 hour trip one way, but so worth it.

So that is my wild and crazy week.

Don't know how much I'll be online.

I'll check in when I can...when all settles down.

Pickin' and Packin'

Have ya ever went pickin' and had a challenge packin' it up to get it home?

We had planned on an out of state trip to check in on the parents and to do some pickin' on the way.

We wanted to leave first thing Friday morning and turn around and come back home Saturday.

Fast and furious. Well, that was the plan. 

Big Red had other plans. Big Red is our truck. It's a nice truck, but...

on Thursday it decided to break down. Not a major problem, but a part needed to be ordered and that takes time. So Big Red could not make the trip. Plan B involved taking the PT Cruiser. LOL!

It takes some pushing and shoving to get it all in such a small space.

At a flea market, people kept walking by us with a smile and saying, 'you need a truck'.

I'd smile back and say, 'we have a truck'. Big sigh.

I had to pass up some wonderful items due to their size, like the beautiful, old wicker chair for only $15. Another big sigh.

But...I am thrilled at what we were able to grab up on our fast and furious trip.

Pickin' and packin' all the way made for a great weekend.

Backyard Whites

All these items were purchased from a flea market or an auction.

They are some of my favorite frugal finds. And the chives are from my garden.

I think they are so pretty in bloom, especially in a blue Ball jar.

There are plenty of wonderful whites in my backyard.

Some come with a little rust and crust.

This set of table and chairs is my favorite find from this past weekend.

This look is perfect for my cottage...the one that is in the planning stages.

This is what I call my Mrs. chair due to its curves. There is a Mr. chair that sits beside it.

This one is mine that I use to relax and overlook the lake. 

It really needs to say 'Mrs.' across the back, don't ya think?
