Two Little Apples

'Way up high in a apple tree 

Two little apples smiled at me 

I shook that tree as hard as I could
Down came the apples,
Mmmm--were they good!'

Sorry. Couldn't help myself. 

A former preschool and kindergarten teacher will do that.

I canned applesauce, but not from two apples. Seventy apples. No apple peeler (now on my Christmas list).

Nothing is better than throwing some apples into a crock pot, sprinkling with cinnamon, 

and setting it on low for a few hours until it is the right consistency. 

Oh and the house smells so divine!

Gotta go...I've got some applesauce that's calling my name.

Look! Isn't this railroad crossing sign a fun piece!?!

I can just see it hanging in my home, but unfortunately I can't keep everything so... 

I put it up for sale.

I bought two dress forms at an auction and kept one which I named Kate.

This one just has to be Kate's cousin  and she is so ready to get out on her own.

Almost Ready

I'm almost ready.

Well...kind of.

Okay, I may never be ready.

But that is not stopping me.

Old Time Farmhouse is something I've been kicking around for awhile.

I'm just going for it and I'll work it all out as I go along.

How's that for a compulsive planner and list maker and wanna be perfectionist?

I'd be pleased if ya check it out. 

It's a blog embracing a sweet and simple farmhouse style.

And of course, throwing in some fun never hurts.

I'm then looking forward to opening a sweet and simple farmhouse shop.

That is...when I'm ready. ☺

It's Fall Y'all

Hopin' y'all have a beautiful fall weekend!

I'll be making some apple dumplings for us to eat while we sit around the fit pit and enjoy the view of the lake. Fall is my favorite time of the year!

This Monday...

it's raining,

it's a little cool,

and I'm a bit tired.

I'm not in the mood to be doing some of the things I should be doing.

That's okay. I can call the shots around here.

With fall in the air, I am in the mood to be playing with apples.

Apples cooking in the kitchen.

Can ya smell them with that touch of cinnamon on top?

I'll share more tomorrow. Today is my play day.

And here's a primitive stool straight out of a barn with some hay still stuck on it,

a large wooden mold from the Gem City Elevator,

a San a Pure dairy crate from 1942,

an industrial time card holder,

an orchard basket (waiting to be jazzed by me),

a tarnished creamer,

and a cute little wooden shoe form.

And last, but not least...

a letterpress tray,

Planning on getting some of this listed in the shop this week!

And trying to decide what will go into the new Old Time Farmhouse shop.

Still working on the details for the new shop and so looking forward to its grand opening.

On The Road Again

I'm so excited. I'll be on the road again first thing tomorrow morning.

Lots of miles to travel for a birthday celebration.

But...

I'll be pickin' on the way there and on the way back.
