Screen Thingy

I recently shared my kitchen and I had a lot of comments on this screen thingy.
That's what I call it. LOL!

I don't know what it is or its intended use.
I found three of them on a pickin' trip.
I kept one and listed two in my shop.

One sold to a business that wanted to use it as a display piece.
I think it makes an interesting display piece for the home.

Use to hang herbs, to display photos, to hang jewelry, or as an organizational piece for the craft room.
I think it's pickin' cool and the possibilities are endless.
What would you do with it?

Short and Random

This is a short post.
And a random one.

I changed my name.
I was Cindy@OldTimePickers.
Now I'm Old Time Cindy.
Made the change because of my new blog, Old Time Farmhouse.
Now, one identity for both blogs.

My farmhouse kitchen, which I revealed over at Old Time Farmhouse, was featured by Angie over at Knick Of Time. I'm delighted and honored. I've discovered that we both have similar tastes.

My thoughts are with those who are being affected by the storm. Luckily my daughter, son-in-law, and our sweet tater granddaughter, who live near Philly, are okay and have power. We are so thankful!

Monday Thoughts

Thoughts and prayers to those in the path of the storm.
We were in the Philly area over the weekend visiting family.
My family prepped the best they could considering the circumstances.
I just want all to be safe and sound!

Now...another Monday thought.
Do ya know this farm chick?

to check out who she is and why I care.

Halloween, Anyone?

Nope.
No, thank you.
Not interested.

What can I say?
Halloween is creepy to me.
It's a little disturbing.

I mean, life can be difficult enough.
I don't do the blood, poison, body part decor.
Ewww...

When my children were little, I did make the most adorable outfits.
They were cute. We had fun. Just a time to be silly.
I guess we make it what we want it to be.

I do celebrate fall.
I sit on my bench that overlooks the lake.
The air has a slight chill, but the sun feels nice and warm.
It's raining leaves all around me.

Being next to God in this moment...I celebrate and am thankful for the season of fall.

Too Late

Morning!
Sometimes, I've discovered that I need to move a little faster.
I really liked this metal tote when I found it at a flea market.
See where someone wrote on it in yellow? It had its own little unspoken story.
That intrigued me for some reason.

Of course I brought it home with me and listed it in the shop.
It's been in the shop since spring.
I really thought someone would snatch it up quickly, but that did not happen.

So it's been on my mind lately.
It would look great on my kitchen table.
I had recently replaced a doily with a feed sack and that table was just calling out for the metal tote.
I decided the tote was going to be all mine.

But I was too late.
Someone bought it that same day. This past Saturday.
I'm sure it is going to a good home, to someone who will appreciate it.
Me...I'm on the hunt to figure out what I want to put on that kitchen table.

Farmhouse Kitchen

Good Monday morning!
Hope y'all had a wonderful weekend.
The weather here was beautiful on Sunday.
Couldn't ask for a prettier day!
I even commented that I wish every day was this perfect.

Anyway, thought I'd let you know that I did my Monday post over at Old Time Farmhouse.
Ta-da...I revealed my farmhouse kitchen.
You don't have to click over and see it.
Only if you want to. It's not magazine worthy or anything.
It's just a kitchen. On a budget.
Where I had hubby cut holes in my cabinets.
Okay, now you really don't want to see it.
After all...it's just a simple farm kitchen.

I'm going in to mess it up now. I need my morning tea.

The Neighbors Came for a Visit

Since it was nice over the weekend, we rolled up our sleeves and got busy.
Fall may be here, but that dreaded winter will be coming.
There's always a lot to tend to...
mowing the yard,
cleaning up the garden,
washing the windows...
and the list goes on!

Just when we were getting started, the neighbors decided to come for a visit.
Now I don't mind, but the gentleman never shuts up.
He brags and brags until I'm ready to send him home.
Really! The nerve! He thinks he's 'all that'!

Then there is this neighbor.
Calm and quiet. Never a problem.
Follows us around while we do our work and never interrupts.
Now if we could get this fine feathered friend to help out while we are working...
well, I'd say that would be the perfect neighbor!

Over at the Farmhouse

Good Monday morning!

I'm over at the Old Time Farmhouse today.

There's a feature from the Old Time Party.

I'm announcing the winner of the Sweet & Simple Giveaway.

And I'm throwing in a little memory of an outhouse.

Yes...an outhouse.

Enjoy your day!

Quick Picks

I just wanted to share some quick picks.
I didn't have much time to do some serious picking.
When I'm on the road though (many hours to attend a wedding), I just have to squeeze in a quick pick.
I found a place. It was a little pricey, but I did manage to find a few pieces.

Look at this Embalmers Supply Co. shipping crate. Creepy! Just in time for Halloween.
Other picks-
A large Merita bread and cake crate.
Two fluted pie pans.
And a wire basket with handles. My favorite!

Now, what to list in the shop and what to save for the Old Time Farmhouse grand opening? I would love to keep the basket, did I already mention it's my favorite? Well, I do have a similar basket in my dining room so I think this one needs to be put up for sale. It needs some muslin or burlap, maybe a shabby flower on the front. The pie pans will get a new look also. Hmmm...chalkboard paint...or a tiered stand for goodies?
Decisions, decisions, but fun all the same.

Good Monday morning to all!
If ya head on over to Old Time Farmhouse, you will find a giveaway!
Just for you. So sweet and simple. Check it out.

Meanwhile, I did mention last week that I've been crafting.
Have a heart or two or more. Making these hearts is becoming an addiction.

Another Trip

(view of our lake)

Will be taking another trip first thing in the morning.
I'll be busy with family and a wedding.
Hopefully, I'll be able to squeeze in a little pickin', too.

(another view of our lake)

It makes it all worth while if I can find something special for the shop!
I really don't shop for myself too often. I shop for all my pickin' cool clients.
Lovin' my life!

Have a great weekend y'all,

Crafting

I've been playin'.
Well, it's more like crafting.
Okay, I've been sewing.
It's all the same thing.

When fall rolls around, I get in the mood to create.
It's a nice change from my summer activity of gardening.
I'll share soon what I made today.
Did I already say I had fun, cause I did.
