Pickin' Barn Wood

Poor ole' guy.
He's old and falling apart.
At my age, I can understand that.

We gathered up some of the wood over the weekend.
Barn wood is not a new passion of mine.
I've obsessed over it for years...37 years to be exact.
It all started with a friend's barn back then.
We picked the wood and made some projects.

So the obsession continues.
And so do the projects.

Just wondering...what do you think of barn wood?

Hubby and I were just talking tonight about him making me a shelf out of barn wood. We have some old barn wood that some friends gave us years ago. Hope he makes it for me soon!

Cindy

Looove! When my parents redid the first house that they bought (1970) when I was a little girl they chose to put old barnwood on the walls in the basement and I am still impressed by it.

Love the stuff! If I could find a good faded red barn to 'pick' I would cover the walls in the bunkhouse halfway up. A neighbor has a big old barn with just the right faded red, would I like to get my hands on that! And everything that's inside too! Like old cars and tools, etc.

Cindy I love barn wood! You can make so many fun things out of it. Up the road from me is an old barnwood shed with touches of turquoise paint. Oh how I would love to have that wood to build my potting shed. The sweet lady that owns it is 102 and lives there by herself.

Jann

I love barn wood and I am soooo jealous! No barns here in the city! I would use it for signs and wooden garden totes.

You know I love it! It's all around us! I'd be crazy not to. I guard my barn wood with my life!

I personally, have no use for it, but just love those old barns, nevertheless.
I know a lot of people who make beautiful furniture, lamps, etc with it and that's why I keep my sights open for them.
Enjoy!

Love barn wood.
It's a rare find around here and when you do find it, the price is so expensive.
